Karen Floor - CEO
Karen’s education background ranges from high school Mathematics and English Literature to teachers' training. She served for eight years as founding principle of a school for the expatriate community of northern Mozambique, where she and her husband facilitated Scripture translation for 20 years. Her passion is to serve the Bible translation movement by networking and leading teams around a common vision for community transformation.
Board of Directors
Chairman: Prof. Piet Meiring
Piet’s influence in ecumenical and missiological circles, as well as in the Dutch Reformed Church, is a real strength to the Board. He is a Professor Emeritus of Missiology, holds a Drs Theol (Free University, Amsterdam) and a Doctorate in Theology (University of Pretoria). He served on the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission and continues to play a key role in reconciliation efforts in South Africa and abroad.
Deputy Chairman: Sean Mooney
Sean’s experience in mission agency governance and his active involvement in the local church are balanced by his strong business acumen as an entrepreneurial businessman. He holds a BSc, MBA, HDE (Higher Diploma in Education) and EDP (Executive Development Programme) diploma.
Beryl Donkin
Beryl has rich experience in the areas of pastoral counselling, discipling and leadership development, and with the nurturing of missionaries in the field. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Port Elizabeth, HDE (Higher Education Diploma) and a Diploma in Theology.
Dr. Rodion Kraus
Rodion qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Cape Town, MBchB. His medical background has led him into key roles in transformative health programmes, both within and beyond the borders of South Africa. His extensive experience in community health across Africa brings to the table a profound understanding of project management at both grassroots and strategic partnership level.
Antonio Mussaqui
As General Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance of Angola, together with his former involvement as officer with the Angolan Bible Society, Antonio is an influential advocate for Bible translation among denominational church leaders across the region.
Dr. Modisa Mzondi
Mzondi’s influence lies in the areas of theological training, Christian leadership and social entrepreneurship. His endeavours are motivated by a desire to see every level of African Christian society impacted and uplifted by the correct use of God’s Word in everyday life. He holds two DLitt et Phil degrees (one in Theology and the other in Biblical studies) from the University of Johannesburg.
Dr. Susan Nyaga
Susan is devoted to the cause of Bible Translation. Her work as a Language and Education Consultant in Africa brings to the table first-hand knowledge of the challenges of field work. As a citizen of Kenya, Susan has resided in South Africa for four years. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Stellenbosch.
Marvin Oliver
Building on his background in Mechanical Engineering, Marvin is a fulltime commercial pilot with South African Airways. His travel schedule has allowed him to visit more than 40 countries worldwide, many of these in West and sub-Saharan Africa, giving him extensive experience in the demands of maintaining international standards.
